Owner-authorized historical notes, prepared with AI assistance. They were NOT personally reviewed by an activated REKODI publisher and are not publisher-approved court records or signed editorial releases. The project owner authorized this finite batch on 26 October 2026.
Each entry states its checking date and limits. Earlier research dates of 20–24 October are retained; the Gemini additions received targeted source checks on 26 October. These are not complete certified docket searches. An allegation is not a finding of guilt, and a historical sentence does not prove present custody.

Summary
Bob Micheni Njagi and brothers Jamil and Aslam Longton disappeared in Kitengela on 19 August 2024 and were later found alive. In habeas proceedings brought by the Law Society of Kenya and others, the High Court had imposed a suspended six-month sentence on Deputy Inspector General Gilbert Masengeli for contempt of court for failing to appear; on 20 September 2024 it set the contempt conviction aside after he appeared and apologised, and recorded that the three men had been found. That ruling does not find who held them. The men have publicly described secret detention and ill-treatment; those accounts are their allegations. In 2026 they were among survivors seeking inclusion in a compensation scheme.
Outcome and procedural limits
proceedings pending. This record covers the August 2024 Kitengela episode only; Bob Njagi's separate 2025 detention in Uganda is a different matter.
Source checking and limits
This note uses the public-source research reviewed on 20–24 October 2026. It is a dated account, not a fresh certified docket search or a claim that the linked original exhibits are held by REKODI.
